With the help of so-called cookies (small data packages that are automatically stored on the PC), it is possible to track your behavior on the Internet across several websites.
On the one hand, this is practical if the online purchases are still in the shopping cart even after browsing other sites. On the other hand, it is questionable whether third-party providers really need to know which pages have been visited. The whole thing can be circumvented with the right browser settings, for example.
Some of these use so-called “sandbox” technologies. Captured cookies are blocked in the box. For the website that plays the cookies, it appears as if they have been successfully stored. However, when you visit the next page, the internet browser has forgotten them again.
